Shirley Mae Manges, 77, Palm Harbor, Fla., and formerly of Ames, died Aug. 28 at St. Mark's Village ALF in Palm Harbor.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, 503 Story St., Boone, with the Rev. Jessica Johnston officiating. Burial was in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

She was born July 24, 1926, in Ames, the daughter of Harold Bernice and Dorothy Jane (Evans) Clemens.

She attended school in Ames and graduated from Ames High School. She married Glen Robert Manges July 17, 1946, in Ames. After living in Ames, she lived in various other cities in Iowa, then moved to Woodridge, Ill., where she lived for 20 years. She then lived in Rock Hill, S.C., for 16 years, and in 2002, moved to Palm Harbor, Fla. She was a homemaker. Her hobbies included gardening.

Survivors include two son, Glenn Robert Manges, Jr., of Pensacola, Fla., and Larry Dean Manges of Woodridge, Ill.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Jane and Kenneth Mackenzie of Palm Harbor, Fla.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law, H.B. "Joe" and Marge Clemens of Westminster, Calif., and J. Howard Clemens of Ames; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia A. and Fred Harrison of Newton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.

Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
