MRS. LETTIE GERMER RITES HELD JUNE 15 1961

Funeral services for Mrs. Lettie Germer were conducted on June 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Boone, with the Rev. Paul C. Mueller in charge and the sermon was based on the text, I Thess. 4:13-18. The congregation sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and the hymn, "The Lord's My Shephard, I'll Not Want" was sung as a duet.

Mrs. Lettie E. Germer was born June 5, 1889, in Boone County, Iowa. She was baptized on July 29, 1899, at the Catholic Church in Boone. She was received into Communicant membership with Zion Lutheran Church, Ogden, by the rite of adult confirmation on March 23, 1953. She was joined in marriage to Edward W. Germer on May 1, 1904. Born to this union were two sons, Donald Edward and James William; and three daughters, Mrs. Vern (Harriet Walker of Marshalltown, Mrs. Thomas (Hazel) Parks of Boone and Mrs. Ben (Mabel) Kouhns of Ogden.

The Lord called her from this earth to Himself in heaven Tuesday morning, June 13, at the age of 72 years and 8 days. She leaves to mourn the five children mentioned above. Three brothers, James and Archie Tilley of Ogden and Chris Tilley of Scottsdale, Ariz. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Buckley of Ogden and Mrs. Harriet Wilson of Boone. Nineteen grandchildren and 39 great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son James William, and one brother, Sylvester.
