Paula Puls, 38, Jewell, died Friday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames due to complications from cancer. She was born May 17, 1964, in Boone, the daughter of Dorrell and Illene (Lundberg) Lindmark. She married Gary Puls at Ames on April 9, 1988.
She graduated from Stratford High School in 1982 and later that year from Southeastern Academy in Kissimmee, FL as a travel agent. She was employed at Iowa State University in Ames in the Facilities Planning and Management Department from 1987 to 1998. She currently was employed in the accounting department of The Fire Service Training Bureau in Ames.
She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jewell where she was a member of Naomi Circle and was a member of the Hamilton County Saddle Club. Her first love was her husband and children. She was an avid outdoor person, especially enjoying horseback riding and camping with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her mother in December of 1998 and her mother-in-law, Joyce Puls. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Meredith Puls and a son Zachary Puls, both at home in Jewell; her father and his wife, Marilyn, Stratford; a sister, Linda Lundberg and her husband, Mike, Story City; two brothers, Doug Lindmark and his wife Darlene of Stratford and Gerry Lindmark and his wife, Cheryl, also of Stratford; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tony and Shirley Puls of Cuba City, WS; three sisters-in-law, Vicki Revenig and her husband Alan of Amboy, IL, Debbie Lambert and her husband Brian of Kellnersville, WS, and Toni Carpenter and her husband, John of Morris, IL; two brothers-in-law, Rick Puls and his wife, Debbie of Lancaster, WS, Dan Puls and his wife, Sue of Oxfordville, WS; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Jewell, with the Rev. Harlan Johnson officiating. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, when family will be present, and on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to time of service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jewell.
Interment will be at Swede Bend Hardin Township Cemetery southwest of Stratford.
Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Stratford was in charge of arrangements.
