Dorothy Stevens, 68, 929 J. Avenue, Boone, died Tuesday at the Boone County Hospital of congestive heart failure. She was born February 19, 1933, in Boone, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Hulse) Arrasmith. She married Gerald Dean Stevens in Shawnee, Mo.

She attended Boone High School and worked at Donnelly's in Nevada, for several years. She also was employed in the housekeeping department at Iowa State University for more than 15 years until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teri Evans of Boone, Gloria and Ron Martin of Boone, and Angie and Kelly Weber of Grand Junction; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Bonnie Stevens of Havelock and Brad and Candi Stevens of Boone; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dixie Wallace of Ogden, Kathy Moore of Ogden, and Charlotte Erickson of Boone.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone. The body was cremated following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials.
