Glenn L. Stevens, 76, 603 Tennyson Street, Stratford, died at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City on Friday due to injuries suffered from a roof collapsing. He was born Mar. 1, 1925, in Boone County, the son of Arthur and Pearl (Leaf) Stevens. He married Trena Johnson on July 30, 1945, in Madrid.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army with the 2nd Division and fought at the Battle of the Bulge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Stevens in May of 1972; and a sister-in-law. Survivors include his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dale Harris of Stratford; one grandson, Bret Harris of Dayton; one granddaughter, Kristin Harris of Boone; one niece; and one nephew.

Funeral services will be today at 10 a.m. at the Stratford Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Larson officiating. Interment will be in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport. Friends may call at the Stratford Baptist Church on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.

The American Legion Frederick W. Sonksen Post #576 of Stratford will conduct graveside military honors.

Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford is in charge of arrangements.
