Larry Weyer, 63, Moravia, died Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Boone, the son of John and Ferril (Yeager) Weyer. He married Joyce Wisecup June 30, 1963, in Madrid.

He graduated from high school in California, then moved back to Boone where he attended Boone Junior College. He and his wife lived and worked in the Boone County area from 1963 to 1996. His love for farming then took them to Moravia where they were involved in raising cattle and growing row crops and hay. He was a member of First Christian Church in Boone. His hobbies included farming, fixing things, working cattle and being outside.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronnie; and one sister, Iva Mae. Survivors include his wife; one son, Darrin, of Boone; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Red Dobson of Boone; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Squire Boone Cemetery in Boone with Merle Prather officiating. Burial will be in Squire Boone Cemetery.

Friends may call at Moravia Funeral Chapel Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family.

Gilbert-Boman Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
