Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Meyer Ensley, 77, Ogden, were Monday, March 27, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ogden, with Rev. Marty Jacobson officiating.

Mrs. Ensley died Thursday, March 23 at Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

Casket bearers were Bob, George, Dave, and Mike Ensley, Jim Blend, Doug Salvo, and Gary and Larry Moeller.

Honorary casket bearer was PFC Eric S. Blend, grandson in the United States Army serving in Iraq.

Marin Jacobson, organist, accompanied herself in singing "Be Still My Soul" and "On Eagle's Wings." Linda Ensley and Pete Hadley were in charge of flowers.

Elizabeth Ensley was born Jan. 16, 1929 in Boone, the daughter of Harold and Anna (Moeller) Smith. She grew up in Boone, attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Boone High School in 1946.

She married Donald Meyer at Trinity Lutheran Church, Boone. Elizabeth attended the Ames School of Practical Nursing and graduated in 1967. She was a career LPN, working at the former Ledges Manor, Boone County Hospital, and Eastern Star Masonic Home, all in Boone, retiring in 1995.

She married LuVerne "Lou" Ensley May 28, 1995 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ogden.

Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, ceramics, reading, music, going to dances with her husband and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Lou; a son, Jim and his wife Jan Meyer of Ankeny; a daughter, Karen and her husband Jim Blend of Eldridge; a brother, Bob and his wife Peg Smith of Chicago; a brother-in-law, James Davidson of Springfield, Va.; four grandchildren; a niece; three nephews; three stepsons, George and his wife Ileen Ensley of Boone; Bob and his wife Annette Ensley of West Des Moines; and Dave Ensley of Ogden; a stepdaughter, Linda Ensley and her husband Pete Hadley of Mackay, Idaho; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Mary Smith; a sister, Elaine Davidson; and a nephew, John Davidson.

Interment was at Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
