Funeral services for Elmer Lloyd Hall, 88, Ogden, were Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Carson Funeral Home, Ogden, with Rev. Richard Boatman officiating.
Mr. Hall died Tuesday, May 2 at his home.
Elmer Hall was born Sept. 12, 1917 in Perry, the son of Harry and Leola (McDonald) Hall. He graduated from Perry High School in 1936.
He married Louise Brewer Dec. 23, 1945 in Perry. The couple farmed southwest of Boxholm for 22 years. Elmer also worked for the ASCS office in Boone. The couple retired and moved to Ogden in 1972 where Elmer worked for the Ogden Community Schools for 12 years, retiring in 1983.
Elmer was a longtime member of the Methodist Church in Boxholm where he held several positions. He served as a Scout Master for several years. Elmer became a member of Community United Methodist Church, Ogden.
Elmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Louise, to whom he was married for 60 years; three sons, Ervin and his wife Martha of Dana Point, Calif.; Larry Hall and Pam Sullivan of Venice, Fla.; and Terry and his wife Kristy Hall of Boone; one daughter, Ruth Jarrell of Adel; two grandsons, Shawn and his wife Janelle Hall, and Phillip Hall; five granddaughters, Kelly and her husband Craig Futch, Heather and her husband Bradley Strable, Loralee Jarrell, Janessa Jarrell, and Kristi Hall; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Futch, Hannah Hall and Langston Strable.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, David of Perry in April 2005, and Vern of Biglerville, Penn. in January of 2006.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, 811 Story St., Boone, IA 50036.
Interment was at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
Carson Funeral Home, Ogden, was in charge of arrangements.
