Kathryn "Kitty" Harris, 66, 129 Linn St., Boone, died Saturday at her home of respiratory failure. She was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Ringgold County near Mount Ayr, the daughter of Dalen and Maude (Culver) Duffield. She married Robert Harris Nov. 19, 1951, in Maryville, Mo.

In earlier years, she worked as a clerk at the Coast-to-Coast store, formerly located on Story Street, and she also worked at the Boone Speedway. She later worked as a waitress at the Black Knight restaurant and Colonial House restaurants in Boone. She was a member of the Women of the Moose No. 104, where she held various offices. Her hobbies included dancing, baking, and participating in family activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ron Harris, and Don and Nora Harris, all of Boone; two daughters, Yvonne Anderson of Des Moines, and Brenda Harris of Boone; five grandchildren, Jason Mallicoat, and Matthew and Justin Harris, all of Boone, and Tiana Springer and Tiffani Terry, both of Des Moines; and three great-grandchildren, Curtis Terry and Makayla Springer, both of Des Moines, and Colten Bennett of Boone.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, with the Rev. Dr. Norman Haupt officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel today from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
