A memorial service for Kenneth Norem, 65, 513 NW 7th Street, Ogden, was Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Boone with Chaplain Henrietta Klarenbeek officiating. His body has been cremated.

Mr. Norem died Tuesday, May 2 at Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

Recorded songs were "I Can Only Imagine" and "He Didn't Have to Be."

Kenneth Norem was born Jan. 12, 1941 in Alden, the son of Clarence and Edith (Johnson) Norem. He grew up in Alden and also lived in Perry and Yellville, Ark. In his earlier years, he worked in construction. Later, he was an over-the-road-truck driver. From 1985 to 1990, he worked for Rebel Express in Dawson and then from 1990 to 1994, for Alter Trucking in Bettendorf.

Kenneth enjoyed outdoor activities including bass fishing, deer hunting and camping. He also enjoyed dancing and country/western music.

Survivors include his wife, Kena of Ogden; three sons, Ward Norem of Phoenix, Ariz., Shane Yeggy of Pine Bluff, Ark.; and Travis and his wife Denise Yeggy of Lakewood, Colo.; two daughters, Renae Allen of Ogden and Dawn and her husband Mike Smith of Monroe; two brothers, Don and his wife Tootie Norem of Irving, Texas and Carrol and his wife Ruth Norem of Iowa Falls; a sister-in-law, Vera Norem of Iowa Falls; and seven grandchildren, Courtney and Kaylay Smith, Erin Good, Michael Lee Archer, Scottie "Scooter" Blum, and Brianna and Gabby Yeggy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Edwin.

Memorials may be given to Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.
