Kenneth Junior Wilcox, 72, 725 S. Main St., Boone, died Friday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of heart failure. He was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Napier, the son of Roy and Iona (Hoffman) Wilcox. He married Rozella Pearson June 24, 1950, in Boone.
He was self-employed, owning a sanitary disposal and water delivery business. He also worked as a welder at Rolfes and as an animal caretaker at the ISU vet clinic. In his younger years he was an avid coon hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, camping and spending time with his animals. He also enjoyed farming and raising livestock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother at birth; and another brother, Boone, at seven years of age. Survivors include his wife; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Gayla Bork, Penny and Butch Kester of Boone and Julie and Mike Rossow of Woodward; two sisters, Marie Harris of Boone and Phyllis Cunningham of Coralville; five grandchildren, Keith Vermillion, Jeff Kester, Kim Miller and Daniel and Charlie Rossow; and three great-grandchildren.
The body has been cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
