Clara Belle Fleek Brown and husbands Joe and W H Brown

I am trying to find information on Clara Belle Fleek Brown and her two husbands. This is what I know.
Clara was born 23 May 1881 in Dayton, Butler, Iowa to William Henry Harrison and Sarah Minirva Woodling Fleek.
In 1905 she was married to Joe Brown and a daughter, Helen M Brown was born on 1 Nov 1905 in Greene, Iowa. Helen was then adopted by W. Betts and wife of Shell Rock. I then find Helen living in Riverside,San Bernardino, California. She married a Walter Partridge and died on 21 Dec 1942. She is buried in San Bernardino. I have her burial and death certificate.
In 1908 Clara was married to W H Brown and they had a son Bert.
On 10 Jul 1909 Clara Belle died in Waterloo, Butler, Iowa. She is buried at Rosehill Cemetery, Greene, Butler, Iowa. I have her obituary and her burial site.
Are the two Browns related, brothers? When were they married and where? What happened to Joe? Why was Helen put up for adoption? I can find the Betts in the census but not with Helen. What happened to her? What happened to Bert and WH after her death?
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.
