Donald Hirth

Donald Hirth was born on February 5, 1942 in Cook County, IL to August Hirth and Theresa Weiglein Hirth. He graduated in 1961 from East High. Don served in the Army as a small arms repairman.

On July 31, 1964, Don was united in marriage to Grace Ella Shaffer in Virginia Beach, VI. He retired in 2003 from John Deere as an assembler. Don was a member of the Amvets in Evansdale – Post 31. He loved anything to do with the outdoors such as wolves, camping, shooting, canoeing and fishing. Don was also a former member of the Turkey Foot Long Rifle club. Most importantly, his greatest joys were his family.

Don died at the age of 77 of natural causes at this home, on December 22, 2019, with his family by his side.

He was preceded in death by his wife Grace, mother Theresa and step father Charles Hedrick. Don is survived by his daughter; Diana (Cary) Krusemark; two grandchildren, Cole Krusemark of Cedar Falls and Grace Krusemark of Ocala, FL, and his beloved dog, Zoey.
