Obituary for Cindy Sachau Van Nice--

WATERLOO, IOWA - Cindy Louise Sachau Van Nice, 60, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, May 7, 2018, at her home in Ocala, of heart problems.

She was born November 1, 1957, in Park Forest, Illinois, daughter of Robert and Virginia (Wiley) Sachau. She married Robert Van Nice on June 12, 2004, in Cedar Falls.

Cindy graduated from Cedar Fall High School in 1976 and had worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing and Friendship Village, prior to moving to Florida in 2010.

Survived by: her husband of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Rev. Larry Sachau (Renee) of Oklahoma City, OK and Dr. Daniel Sachau (Beth) of Mankato, MN; two nieces, Christina Dunneman and Madeline Sachau; two nephews, Scott Sachau and Johnathan Sachau; two stepsons, Joe (Bridget) Van Nice of Grundy Center and Mike (Jackie) Van Nice of Cedar Falls; a stepdaughter, Lisa (Brandon) Brockway of Waterloo; and nine grandchildren. Her mother, Virginia Sachau, passed away 11 days after Cindy.

Preceded in death by her father.

A combined memorial service for Cindy and Virginia Sachau will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7th at Nazareth Lutheran Church - Larsen Chapel in Cedar Falls. Family will receive friends at a lunch, following the service.

Cindy was a warm and unassuming person with an easy laugh. In addition to spending time with her friends and family, Cindy enjoyed swimming and the Florida sun.
