Biography

Dawn Leann Haywood, 53, of Waterloo died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Thursday, June 28, 2018. She was born June 8, 1965 in Waterloo the fourth daughter of Ronald D. and Winifred Jo "Winkey" Shadman Johnson.

Dawn married John Levasseur and they later divorced. She then married Joseph Michael Haywood on November 5, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. She graduated from Jesup High School in 1983 and received an associate’s degree in Business from Hamilton College in 2006.

She worked for EPI for a few years. She was the queen of the castle, connoisseur of scones, and a simple woman who loved food. Good and devoted mother to her daughters and many pets, and she knew and loved the Lord.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Jill (Drew) Booras of Boston, MA and Emily Levasseur of Stanford, CT; one grandson, Benjamin Booras; four sisters: Jodylinn (Dave) Peterson of Jesup, Pamela Wright, Cindy Patten, and Melissa (Josef) Fox all of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and paternal & maternal grandparents.
