CEDAR FALLS, IOWA — Guy Arvide Millermon, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, May 28, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was born on April 12, 1942, in Wisconsin, son of McKinley and Irene (Blair) Millermon. He married Janice Lienemann on January 13, 1991.

Guy graduated from Barron High School and moved to Iowa. He worked for Phillip 66, as a bus driver, was also employed at Waterloo Industries as a painter and worked for many years at John Deere as a machinist, retiring in 2006. After retirement, Guy began working as a bus driver again.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Todd (Janet) Millermon of Waterloo and Alan (Wendy) Millermon of Washington; a stepson, Chad (Peggy) Seidel of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Jodi Millermon of Waterloo, and Tonya (Millermon) Heidemann of Waterloo; two stepdaughters, Connie Seidel of Evansdale and Amy (Stacy) Soldwisch of Cedar Falls; two brothers, William (Toots) of Wisconsin and Perry (Arlene) of Oklahoma; two sisters, Wilma Wilger and Donna Benoy both of Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren with two on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Family-directed Celebration of Life: Wednesday, June 6, at Washington Chapel, United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, assisted the family.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

Guy enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, fishing and camping. He also greatly enjoyed going to the casino with Janice. Guy coached softball, loved gardening and working on crossword puzzles. He had a great sense of humor and a true talent for writing poems. Above all else, Guy loved his family, friends, and his dog, Dolly.
