Waterloo Courier-Carl H. Wayson, 63, Waterloo, Iowa, resident and former longtime Independence, IA resident, died Wednesday, July 12, 1978 in (St. Mary's Hospital)Rochester, MN. He had been a patient there for five days.
Mr Wayson was born on Jan 23, 1915 in Vinton, IA the son of James and Cynthia Dine Wayson. He was married to Eleanor Kimm on May 18, 1936 in Klemme, IA. He was a machinist for John Deere in Waterloo. Mr Wayson was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo and a member of the United Auto Workers Local #838, Waterloo.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three daughters, Mr John E.(Sharon) Herman of Waterloo, Mrs Cheryl Smith, Waterloo, Mrs William (Shiela) Cool, Cedar Rapids and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services were held on Saturuday, July 15, 1978, at 10:30 AM at St John's Catholic Church in Independence.
Special services were held on Sat. July 14, at White Funeral Chapel, including a Parish rosary at 3 PM and the Catholic Wake Service at 7:30 PM.
Burial was in St John's Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Cahill, Jerry Lauer, Percy Wepler, and Daryl Stoner. Pallbearers were Tony Greco, Dick Gaffney, William Althaus, Jim Kelley, Max Walker, and E.J. (Bud) Freeman. White funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
