Funeral services will be at the Locke Funeral Home for Mrs Anna E. Smith, 86, of 1051 Oregon St. who died yesterday at the Woodlawn Convalescent Home of complications incident to advanced age.
The Rev. Richard Sorenson, pastor of St. Ansgar Lutheran church will officiate. The body will be sent to Iroquois, SD for burial.
She was born near Norway, IA on 2 July 1871, the daughter of Silas and Katharina (Engel)Kimm and was married to Frank M. Smith on Feb 5, 1901 near Norway, IA. (farm at Walford, IA)
She lived in Waterloo since 1947.
Surviving are a son, Forrest E. Smith, 1051 Oregon St; a sister, Mrs Louisa Nelson, Cincinnati, OH; a brother, William Kimm, Cedar Rapids and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter. (They farmed in Iroquois, SD most of their married life.) (I'm a grandchild)
