Brief Illness Ends in Death

After less than two weeks illness of pneumonia, William J. Veach passed away yesterday afternoon at 12:50 at his home 205 Manson Street.
He was taken sick a week ago today and his condition from the first had been serious.
The out-of-town relatives had been summoned and were with him when death came.

Deceased was born at Epworth, Dubuque County, Iowa, November 1, 1867. He was married April 19, 1896 to Miss Mary Toner of Dougherty, Iowa and they made their home on a farm for twelve years at this place, being also engaged in farming later at Epworth.

He came to Waterloo two years ago and was employed for a time as motorman for the W.C. F. & N.

At the time of his death he was with the Waterloo & Cedar Falls Union Mill company and was working in Cedar Falls.

Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his death three children, Charles, aged 9, Rose, aged 8 and Willie, aged 6. Two brothers and two sisters also survive: Joe, Farley; Charles, Eccleston, Minn.; Mrs. Wm. Lawler and Bessie Veach, Farley.

The body will be taken to Farley Sunday morning and the burial will be in the Catholic cemetery in Pleasant Grove on Sunday.

Deceased had made many friends during his short residence in this city and all will sympathize with the bereaved relatives in their sad loss.
