CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Bradford "Brad" Howland, 64, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
He was born July 24, 1953 in Orange City, Iowa, son of John and Carolyn (Porter) Howland. He married Catherine “Cathy” Averill on July 18, 1987 in Cedar Falls.
He graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1971 and attended Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and received PMEL training. He was employed in Bio-med and Information Systems at Allen Hospital prior to owning and operating his own business, LightWorks Art, where he created kinetic sculptures and stained-glass jewelry. He was a member of New Horizons Band and a mentor for Cedar Falls Robotics Team 525.
Survived by: his wife, Cathy of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Hannah Howland of Cedar Falls; his parents of Ogden, UT; a sister, Brenda (Dennis) Stockberger of Ogden; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Rita Averill of Cedar Falls; two brothers-in-law, Paul Averill of Cedar Falls and Tim Averill of North St. Paul, MN; and a sister-in-law, Jean Gee of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Rodney J. Howland.
Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to the service.
