Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Locke Funeral Home and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church

Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck, Iowa with military honors by the Iowa Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail, Hudson AMVET Post 82 and the Reinbeck American Legion.

Biography--

Allen G. Wrage, 89, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at ManorCare Health Services on Saturday, March 31, 2018.

Allen was born August 21, 1928, in Waterloo, the son of John and Pauline Boll Wrage. He married Dorothy Alice Wood November 29, 1953 in Reinbeck; she died January 27, 1996. He married Judy Smith January 12, 2001 in Independence.

Allen graduated from Hudson High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Korea.

Allen farmed in Hudson for most of his life. He also worked for Rath Packing Co. for 29 years until they closed and was an Archer Oil Dealer for many years.

He was a member of Grace Reformed Church, Hudson AMVETS Post 82 where he was Secretary for many years and a member of the Honor Guard and an auctioneer every Christmas. He was also a member of the Reinbeck American Legion. He was able to go on the Honor Flight in 2014. Allen followed his sons as they wrestled and played football growing up. He loved the Green Bay Packers. He assisted the bag truck drivers for the Rainbow Cyclists on RAGBRAI for 7 years.

Allen was a judge on the TV show Laugh-A-Thon in California. Allen never met a stranger; he could talk to everyone he met. He was very loving and willing to do anything for anyone. He also wouldn’t hurt a flea. He valued a hard day's work and relaxed on his deck in the evenings.

Survivors include his wife Judy of Waterloo; a daughter Nancy Jo (Kent) Quin of Waterloo; 4 sons: Marty J. (Diane) Wrage of Ames, Chris W. Wrage of Hudson, Daniel L. (Julie) Wrage of Sterling, IL, and Patrick D. (Michelle) Wrage of Hudson; 3 stepsons: Rod (Lori) Smith, Roger (Darla) Smith, Robert (Teresa) Smith; 2 stepdaughters: Roxanne (Leonard) Thompson and Robben (Jim) Wilson. He is also survived by 28 Grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren; a brother Lester Wrage of Hudson; sister-in-law Dorothy Wrage of Hudson; and his faithful companion Brady.

Allen is preceded in death by a son Larry Wrage, a son in infancy Cary Wrage, and a brother Delbert Wrage.
