Memorial Services: 11:00 AM Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Wind Cove Western Home Communities, 5300 South Main Street in Cedar Falls.

Cemetery:
Burial will be at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.

Biography--

Gwynette Delores Deibler, 83, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, and Wichita, Kansas, died at Pinnacle Specialty Care, Cedar Falls, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, of kidney failure.

She was born July 21, 1934, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Owen and Greta Hall Hughes. She graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1952.

Gwen married Keith Deibler on April 11, 1959 at St. Paul's United Methodist, Waterloo. He died November 28, 2015.

She retired as a computer operator at Dillon's Grocery Store in Wichita.

Gwen was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church, Goddard, KS, and was active working with commodity foods, meals for the homeless, the food bank, school back packs and Open Door Klothes Closet; and with her husband, volunteered at Park West Assisted Living driving residents to appointments and shopping. Most recently she was a member of Orchard Hill Church, Cedar Falls.

She is survived by her son, David (Barb Schilf) Deibler of Cedar Falls; daughter, Debra (Michael) Hooper of Merritt Island, Florida; two grandsons, Owen Thomas Deibler of Cedar Falls and Brandon (Amy) Deibler of Wichita; one great granddaughter, Shaylee Hope Deibler; and two sisters, Ida Cook and Evie (Russ) Mattox, both of Cedar Falls.

Gwen was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Shirley Grosse.
