Biography--

Shirley A. Kolsrud, 66, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, in Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born December 31, 1951, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Georgia Rohe Fitzgerald. She graduated from Cresco High School in 1970. She married William “Bill” Craig Kolsrud in September 28, 1974 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lourdes, IA.

Shirley worked at Ben Franklin in Evansdale and Powers Mfg. Co. before becoming a full-time homemaker.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She also looked forward to making quilts, sewing, baking, but she especially loved being with her grandchildren and taking three-day weekends with Bill.

Shirley is survived by her husband, a son, Michael (Heather) Kolsrud of Denver, IA; three grandchildren, McCale, Mason, and Hazel Kolsrud; two sisters, Roseann (Shirley) Fitzgerald of Elk Run Heights, Mary Lee (Bruce) Smith of Center Point; a brother, John (Jeri) Fitzgerald, of Elma, IA; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Collins of Waterloo and Karen Hile of Evansdale, IA; one brother in law, David (Diana) Ferris of Alexandria, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Maxwel Kolsrud; mother in law, Rose Collins; and brother in law Victor Kolsrud.
