Biography--

Barbara M. Weltzin, 81, a resident of Bickford Cottage in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

She was born on June 18, 1936 in Independence, the daughter of Marvin Charles and Thelma Maude Axline Long.

Barbara graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1955.

She married Arther E. Weltzin July 3, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on September 12, 2015.

Barbara had worked in food service for Waterloo Community Schools at Logan, McKinstry, and Kittrell for 35 years. She retired in 2011. She was a member of St. Ansgar Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Melodie (Mike) Satterlee of Waterloo; a son, Mike Weltzin of Waterloo; and a grandson, Brandonn (Carissa) Satterlee of Evansdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Connie Loonan.
