William McDermott

March 28, 1954 - December 14, 2017

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – William “Bill” McDermott, 63, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, December 14, 2017, at his home.

He was born March 28, 1954 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, son of Eugene and Pauline (Halfpap) McDermott. He married Jeanne M. Kleinhans on June 28, 2001 in Monticello, Iowa.

He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1971 and worked in shipping and receiving at John Deere.

Survived by: his wife of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Chandra “C.J.” Lappe (Stan Camic) of Cedar Rapids; a son, Shane (Wendy) Kleinhans of Covington, GA; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Steve McDermott of Waterloo and John (Lisa) McDermott of Spring, TX.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 19 at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls.
