Sudden Death

Mrs. Edmund Sawyer, the third wife of the late Edmund Sawyer, of Spring Creek, died last Saturday morning of heart failure, at the residence of the Misses White in LaPorte City.

Mrs. Sawyer had come to town Friday, expecting to make her home with her old friends, the Misses White during the winter. The morning of her death she was in average health, and was sitting in the room awaiting breakfast, of a sudden Miss White saw her head drop forward, and before medical assistance could be summoned she expired. Deceased was one of the old time residents of Blackhawk Co., and was the step-mother of Mrs. S. Gilley of this city and of G.W. and E. Sawyer of Spring Creek. She was 74 years of age. The funeral occurred Sunday.

Religous services were conducted by the Rev. Bradfield in the Sawyer church and the remains laid to rest in the Spring Creek cemetery.
