Sharon E. Nissen, 75, of Elk Run Heights, died Monday, October 30, at Pinnacle Specialty Care, Cedar Falls.

She was born January 27, 1942 in Chicago, daughter of Peter and Hazel Augustine Frank. She married Marvin E. Nissen on July 9, 1960 in Waterloo. He died May 19, 2016.

Sharon was employed with Allen Memorial Hospital for many years until retirement.

Survivors include three sons: Kevin (Cindy) Nissen and Peter Nissen, both of Austin, Texas and Danny (Marlys) Nissen of Waterloo; two daughters, Sherry (Joe) Rich of Stout and Laura Nissen of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Kenneth) Showers of Grundy Center; and seven nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services on Friday at the funeral home.
