Obituary for Ruth Pauline Kruth

Ruth Pauline Geerts Kruth, 100, of Nation Cottage, Western Home Communities, formerly of Evansdale, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

She was born Sept. 20, 1917 in Regent, ND, daughter of Theodore T. and Margaret M. Brehm Geerts. She married Everest Kruth June 8, 1943 in Alta Vista. He died Dec. 1, 1976.

Survived by: a son, Joseph (Barbara) of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Theresa (Roger) Shipp of Eden Prairie, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Kruth of Evansdale; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy (Jess), Mark (Dawn), and Ryan Kruth, Elizabeth Kayser, Greg (Jill Winter) Shipp, Laura (Aaron) Rau, Melissa (Tyler) McCarville, Meghann (Nick) Effenheim; 12 great grandchildren, Joylyn, Shaun, Jameson, Natalie, Tyler, Camryn, Evan, Leah, Kate, Greta, Madison, Addison; a brother, Dan (Coletta) Geerts of New Hampton; a sister, Monica Marvin of Alta Vista; two sisters-in-law, Monica Geerts and Beulah Quisling both of New Hampton.

Preceded in death by: her husband; a son, Leo Kruth; 5 brothers, Paul, Louis, Andrew, Elmer Geerts and one in infancy; a sister, Mabel Geerts.

Services: 10:30 Monday, Nov. 6 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 2 p.m. Legion of Mary rosary and a 4 p.m. vigil. Visitation continuing for one hour before services at the church on Monday.
