Donald “Don” Robert Schrader was born on January 16, 1930, in La Porte City, Iowa, the son of Dale and Sylvia (Border) Schrader. Don attended Geneseo School.

On August 3. 1950, he was united in marriage to Margaret Hulme in Waterloo, Iowa. Don farmed in the Waterloo area his entire life. He had a special love for his family, farming, and his horses.

Don died at the age of 87 on Monday, September 25, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Terri Jo Taylor; a granddaughter, Katie Lyn Schrader; and a brother-in-law, Leland Hulme.

Don is survived by his wife, Margaret of Hudson; a son, Tom (Ann) Schrader of Waterloo; two daughters, Donna Schrader of Waterloo and Jaci (Nick) Soska of Waterloo; two sisters; a brother; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Don’s family. A donation will be made at a later date.
