Duane Cummings

December 22, 1931 - September 24, 2017

Duane Cummings, age 85, of Parker Place, Parkersburg, Iowa, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 after a short illness.

He was born on a farm in rural Blackhawk County, Iowa, on December 22, 1931, son of Clayton and June Moseley Cummings. He married Norma Jean Neith on July 14, 1957 in Evansdale. She died June 12, 2010.

Duane attended Dunkerton High School, after graduation he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served from 1950-1954. After being discharged he attended Hawkeye institute of Technology, completing the tool and die program. Mr. Cummings then worked for Viking Pump Houdaille, retiring in 1994.

Survivors include three daughters, Debbie (Gregg) Lehman of Hartford, Tenn., Cindy (Lance) Rindels of New Hartford and Becky (Alan) Carrier of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Steven (Mandy) Junkman of Las Vegas, Nev., Natalie (Nick) Janey of Gold Breeze, Fla., Robert Lehman of Hartford, Tenn., and Andrew Carrier of Parkerburg; three great-grandchildren, Alana and Eleanor Junkman of Las Vegas, Nev., and Meredith Janey of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and a sister Judy Frahm of Wellsburg.

Private family graveside services are planned. Inurnment of cremains will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dunkerton. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Hawkeye Community College Tool and Die program.
