Obituary for Kenneth Allen Baker

Cedar Falls, Iowa – Kenneth Allen Baker, age 76, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, September 15, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

He was born October 29, 1940, in rural Winneshiek County, the son of Lloyd and Gladys (Yarwood) Baker. He graduated from Waterloo East High School in the class of 1959. He served in US Army.

On June 16, 1962, he married Fern Cole in Waterloo. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2013. Kenny worked as a truck driver for Titus Manufacturing, before becoming a machinist at Viking Pump, where he worked for 32 years before retiring in 2005.

He is survived by a daughter, Tina (Paul) Rudebeck of Buckingham; a son, Scott (Sheila) of Des Moines; four grandkids, Christopher (Jenny) Rudebeck of Waterloo, and Jenny, Amber, and Nick Baker all of Des Moines; and by a sister, Dorothy Ehlert of Indianola.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Memorial Services will be 11am Thursday, September 21, at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, or University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Palliative Care.
