Biography--

Sandra “Sandy” Runte, 68, of Evansdale, died Friday, September 15, 2017 at UnityPoint – Allen Hospital of complications of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Sandy was born on October 3, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Martin and Ellouis Wenndt Daehn.

She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1966. She attended classes at Clinton Community College and went on to graduate from the University of Northern Iowa in 1971 with a degree in special education.

Sandy married Robert “LeRoy” Runte on April 6, 1974 in Council Bluffs. She was a homemaker.

Sandy was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Evansdale.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Robert “LeRoy” Runte of Evansdale; three siblings: Judy Norton of Lowden, David (Brenda) Daehn of Wheatland, and Mary Daehn of Lowden; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, William “Bill” Norton.
