Obituary for Marcella R. Doyle

Marcella R. Doyle, 95, of Waterloo, died Saturday, September 16, at Northcrest Specialty Care.

She was born August 18, 1922 in Waterloo, daughter of John and Leona Delagardelle Welbes. She married Joseph Doyle on March 27, 1944 in Waterloo. He died May 23, 2001.

Marcella was employed with the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce and later with Sears until retirement.

Survivors include: a son, Joseph (Beverly Whittle) Doyle of Waterloo; a daughter, Kathleen (Randy) Brown of Waterloo; two daughters-in-law, Marianne Doyle of Waterloo and Christine Doyle of Brookfield, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother, John “Jack” Welbes of Waterloo; and five sisters-in-law, Arlene Welbes of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Patricia Bruns and Mary (Jack) Moeller, both of Waterloo, Colleen (Walter) Earhart of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Marge (Gordon) Phillips of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Ellen Doyle; two sons, Patrick and Andrew Doyle; two sisters, Sr. Jonanne Welbes, BVM and Anita (Ray) Frost; two brothers, Alvin (Stacy) Welbes and Donald Welbes; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Welbes.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Catholic Schools.
