Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Anders
Charles “Chuck” Anders, 81 of Waterloo, Iowa, died Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
He was born Dec. 8, 1935 in Sheridan, Mo. Son of Woodrow and H. Margaret Gabbert Anders.
He married Patricia A. McGrane May 16, 1959 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo.He graduated from Waterloo East High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed at Deere and Company for 33 years retiring in 1996.
Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Kelly Bahe of Charles City and Katie (Kraig) Pfiffner of Dubuque; two sons, Bryan of Whitewater, Wisc., and Jason (Missy) of Waterloo; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy (Becky) Bahe, Elizabeth (Tim) Foust, Alex Pfiffner, Lauryn Pfiffner, Jameson Anders, McKenna Anders; 4 great-grandchildren, Carson, Kinleigh, Kaine, Kielyn; one brother, Jerry (Judy) Anders of Waterloo; two sisters, Toots Weston of Waterloo and Jan Hansen of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by a brother, John Anders; a brother-in-law Jerry Hansen.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with full military rites conducted by the Waterloo and Evansdale Amvets Posts 19 & 31 and the Iowa Air Force Honor Guard. Inurnment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Public visitation will be Wednesday, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church on Thursday.
Memorials: directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
