Biography--

Diana Jean Newman, 67, of Washburn, Iowa, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, Iowa, of natural causes.

Diana was born June 4, 1950 in Lamoni, Iowa, daughter of Arnold “Curly” and Donna (McDowell) Wion. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1968.

She married John Newman on December 27, 1969 in Waterloo. Diana worked at Sears, Westminster Presbyterian Church as the secretary, and Walmart for eight years before retiring. Diana was a member of Cedar Valley Community Church.

She is survived by: her husband, John; her mother, Donna Wion of Cedar Falls; two daughters: Brandi (Tim) Ovel of Washburn and Carey Newman of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Jordan Newman, Tyler Newman, Caydin Newman, Gavin Newman, and Brenner Newman; and two brothers: Ronnie (Kate) Wion of Waterloo and Rickey (Beth) Wion of Cedar Falls.

Diana was preceded in by: her father, Arnold “Curly” Wion in May 2017; a son, Patrick, in infancy; a grandchild, Brett Michael Sealock; and a sister, Carol Wion.
