Biography--

Alex T. Allen, 25, of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Alex was born on May 23, 1992 in Waterloo, the son of Edward Thomas and Teresa Allen. He graduated from Waverly Shell Rock High School with the class of 2011.

He currently worked as a bartender at Hurricane Bar and Grill in Waterloo. In his spare time, Alex liked to play pool and darts and was an avid swimmer. He also liked to watch 90’s comedies and could quote a movie after watching it once. He had a way of impacting the lives of anyone he met and his smile could brighten any room.

Alex is survived by: his mother: Teresa Allen of Monticello; his fiancé, Ashley Graff of Waterloo; two brothers, Jacob (Brooke) Allen of Cedar Rapids and Max (Kalissa) Allen of Waverly; a half-brother, Todd Herrmann of Waterloo; his grandmother Frances Frost of Monticello; an aunt, Julie Frost of Monticello; two uncles Kenny (Lori) Frost of Waterloo and John (Janae) Frost of Shell Rock; and four cousins: Kelsey (Tate) Dehmlow, Kennedy Frost, Kaity (Danny) Begnoche, and Elliott (Kim) Frost.

The family would also like to recognize honorary casket bearers; Nathan Dillavou, Andrew Newell, David Allen, Jerod Botts, Tyler Spencer, and Levi Holmberg.

Alex was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Justin Allen in infancy; and a great uncle, John Ferring; and his father’s best friend, Butch Neagle.
