Biography--

Doris Mae Niedermann Gerdis, 86, of Elk Run Heights, died Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Cedar Falls Western Home Communities, Elizabeth E. Martin Center.

She was born May 15, 1931, in Grand Meadow, Minnesota the daughter of Carl J. and Mabel (Shaw) Gnade. She was a graduate of Waterloo West High School and attended Gates Business College. She married Glen Robert Niedermann on March 12, 1951 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on April 14, 2006.

She married Henry “Hank” Gerdis, Jr. on December 4, 2009 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on March 3, 2016.

She worked at John Deere Co. as a Cost Accountant for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Raymond United Methodist Church and the Evansdale AMVETS.

She is survived by one son, Rick Niedermann of Waterloo; three daughters: Becky (Tom) Nehl of Waverly, Marla Heath of Waterloo, Karla Niedermann of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Stacy (Ryan) Phillips of Evansdale, Lindsey (Mike) Ramker of Waverly, Ashley Broome of Rochester, Minnesota, Kristin (Dominic) Hinds of Waterloo, Michael (Leah) Niedermann of Evansdale; four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Lauren Phillips, Ariyah Lemmons, Lottie Ramker and one sister Ruth Weltzin of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two brothers, Roland and Kenneth Gnade; three sisters, Helen Hatlestad, Mickey Perrin, Gladys Kitterman and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Niedermann.
