Robert "Bob" Joseph Frost

October 10, 1953 - June 26, 2016

Robert "Bob" Joseph Frost, 62, of Gilbertville, formerly of Orlando, Florida, died Sunday, June 26, at his home while under the care of cedar Valley Hospice.

He was born October 10, 1953 in Waterloo, son of Cletus "Bud" and Dolores Schares Frost. He married Virginia "Ginny" Frost on December 13, 1974 in Waterloo.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was owner/operator of a Duraclean franchise in the Orlando area. Prior to that, he worked for Southland Corp. across Iowa. He was a 41 year member of American Legion Post 714.

Survived by: his wife; his daughter, Elizabeth Frost of Gilbertville; six sisters: Carolyn DeBenedetto of Red Bank, NJ, Shirley (Ed) Harrison of Lakeland, FL, Joan Becker and Renee Pecenka both of Gilbertville, Pamela Brown of Elk Run Heights, Joleen (Dan) Frick of Glen Ellyn, IL; three brothers: Dean (Debbie) and Terry (Monica) of Gilbertville, Bruce (Marcia Huffey) of Viroqua, WI; six brothers-in-law: Lester Schares of Gilbertville, Bill Frost of Evansdale, Tim (Dorothy) Frost of Raymond, Kevin (Carey) Frost of Dike, Larry Nosbisch of Waterloo; four sisters-in-law: Ann (Scott) Shimp of Dunkerton, Becky (Eric) Hoffman of Grimes, Paula (Dean) Delagardelle of Elk Run Heights and Jackie Frost of Washburn.

Preceded in death by: his parents: his step-mother, Irma Wagner Frost; a sister, Phyllis Schares; two brothers-in-law: Silvio DeBenedetto and Stan Frost; and two sisters-in-law: Barb Nosbisch and Jeanie Frost.

Services: A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with inurnment in Sancta Maria Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 with a 4 p.m. rosary at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street and will continue for one hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Memorials: may be directed to Immaculate Conception Church or to the family for a Special Needs Trust for his daughter.
