Obituary for Levi E. Mast

Levi E. Mast, 72, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 5, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born October 16, 1944, in Oelwein, the son of Dave and Polly Miller Mast. He married Jennifer Weber on June 15, 1999 in Galena, Ill.

Levi served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was employed as a truck driver for Grey Transportation, retiring in July of 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer of Waterloo, four sons: David (Gina) Hayungs of Granville, Ill, Eddie (Tammy) Mast of Epworth, Stacy (Heather) Mast of Grundy Center, and Adam (Courtney) Mast of Grundy Center; five daughters: Lisa (Todd) Frambs of Wabeno, Wis, Sarah (Patrick) Armstrong of Blair, Neb, Jody Virgil of Gladbrook, Cheri Schurman of Cedar Falls, and Mary (Joe) Dennison of San Diego, Calif., twenty-six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Katie Mast of Waterloo, Martha (Ron) Dagitz of Waterloo, and Mary Haddeman of Waterloo; a brother, Larry (Laura) Mast of Evansdale.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Mast; a great-grandson, Skyler Mundt; a brother-in-law, Michael Haddeman.

Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31, assisted by the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 9, and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
