Services:
Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel

Visitation:
5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 and an hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. There will also be a Service of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations directed to UnityPoint Hospice, 1825 Logan Ave., Waterloo, IA 50703

Biography--

David J. “Dave” Damge, age 70, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his home.

He was born August 24, 1946 in Oelwein, Iowa the son of Delbert L. and Stella M. (Harrington) Damge.

Dave graduated from Oelwein High School and Upper Iowa University.

He was united in marriage with Carol A. Torrey on July 30, 1966 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein.

Dave was employed at John Deere & Co., retiring in 2001 after 28 years of service. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and participating in outdoor sports including golfing, hiking, scuba diving and skiing. Dave and Carol enjoyed many happy days traveling together and were fortunate to have been able to visit 50 countries and all 50 states. Dave’s greatest pride in life was his children and grandchildren and the time they shared together.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carol, of Waterloo; two sons, Mike (Lisa) Damge of Cincinnati, OH and Scott (Doreen) Damge of Naperville, IL; a daughter, Kristen (Ron) Kimmenau of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Ben, Rachel, Abby and Will Damge and Kaitlyn Kimmenau; and two sisters, Margaret (Ken) Jack of Fresno, CA and Marilyn (Rick) Patterson of Hampton, IL.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Matthew John Damge.
