Ralph W. Briden

November 8, 1922 - June 24, 2017

Cedar Falls, Iowa – Ralph W. Briden, age 94, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, June 24, at the Shell Rock Care Center.

He was born November 11, 1922, in Janesville, Iowa, the son of Howard and Millie (Arns) Briden. He graduated from Finchford High School. He served as a Lt Col in the Air Force, serving in World War II.

On March 1, 1949, he married Geraldine Greely in Hudson; she preceded him in death on Dec 30, 1994. On November 3, 1996, he married Helen Harken in Cedar Falls; she preceded him in death on April 20, 2012. Ralph worked as an accountant for First National Bank and worked 22 years at John Deere Tractor Works, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his three sisters, Joyce Briden, Lucile Best, and Carol McBride
Survived by: his son, Keith Briden of Waterloo; two step-sons, Ed (Mary) Harken of Cedar Falls, and Steven (Carol) Harken of Leawood, KS; and a step-daughter Patricia Harken of Ankeny.

Funeral Services will be 1pm Monday, July 3, at the First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, with visitation beginning and 11am. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Military Honors conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49.
