Julie Cae Briggs, 52, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 28, at home.

She was born May 23, 1965, in Janesville, Iowa, the daughter of Robert L. and Dorothy J. Van Hauen Yokom. She married Alan D. Briggs on July 4, 1993 in Cedar Falls. They later divorced.

Julie was employed in telemarketing with GMAC and CBE.

Survivors include her son, Dakota Briggs of Washburn; her mother and step-father, Dorothy and Del Carolus of Parkersburg; her sister, Cathy Damm of Parkersburg; two step-brothers, Todd Kono of Ohio and Trevis Yokom of Cedar Falls; and a nephew, Justin Damm of Parkersburg.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Yokom; maternal grandparents, Harm and Clara Van Hauen; and paternal grandparents, Clark and Olive Yokom.

A family conducted memorial service will be Saturday, July 8, at River’s Edge Christian Church.
