Anna Waggoner

Anna Mae Waggoner of Dysart, Iowam went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 13, at Cedar Valley Hospice, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born April 10, 1931 to William and Nettie (Wright) Conn in Jefferson County, Kentucky. As an adult, she moved to Iowa to care for her mother and she then made the Waterloo area her home. She worked as a nursing assistant and home care provider until retirement.

She then married Newton Waggoner on January 11, 2002, and moved to Dysart.

Anna is survived by her husband, sisters Marge Taylor and Jean (Verlyn) Kraus and many nieces, nephews and little ones who loved Nana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Poyner and Millie Foss; brothers-in-law, Bob Poyner, Elwin Foss and Lyle Taylor.

Anna will be remembered for many things, but especially her love of flowers, children, and her sense of humor.

Burial was at Dysart Cemetery in a private service on June 14, and a memorial service will be on Monday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Dysart.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
