Obituary--

Paul M. Jay, 95, of Rockville, Maryland, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died peacefully on Friday, June 9 at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born February 12, 1922 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Raymond D. and Mae L. Speicher Jay. He married Theola White, June 30, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She died December 11, 2001.

Paul was employed for over 30 years as a car painter in various Chevrolet dealerships, and another 20 years in property maintenance at the Parkview Apartments. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Marine Corp in the South Pacific during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Kevin (Jessica) Jay and his granddaughter, Annabel Jay all of Rockville, Md.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 21 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Waterloo Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo and Evansdale Amvets and the Iowa Marine Corps Honor Guard. Public visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20 at the funeral home, where there will be a 7 p.m. public Masonic Service. Visitation will continue for an hour before services.

Memorials may be directed to the Paul & Theola Jay Memorial Scholarship, Community Foundation of NE Iowa.
