Biography--

Arnold J. “Curly” Wion, age 86, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at Ravenwood Specialty Care.

He was born August 5, 1930 in Kellerton, Iowa, the son of Albert and Fannie Shaner Wion. He was united in marriage with Donna McDowell on October 22, 1949 in Leon, Iowa.

Curly worked at Rath Packing Co. for many years, retiring when the plant closed. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family at various Iowa campgrounds.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Waterloo; a daughter, Diana (John) Newman of Washburn; two sons, Ronald (Kate) Wion and Rickey (Beth) Wion, all of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta Amick of Omaha, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carole Wion; a grandson, Patrick Newman; a great grandson, Brett Sealock; three brothers: Lloyd, Paul and John Wion; and three sisters: Rosemary Corll, Josephine Wion and Donella Gordon.
