Biography--

Elaine Marie Sturtz, 58, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at NorthCrest Specialty Care from complications of leukemia.

She was born July 27, 1958 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Harald and Maxine (Driscol) Brenna.

She was a 1976 graduate of Waterloo West High School and received her BA in Psychology from UNI.

Elaine married Steven Sturtz on December 31, 1978 at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She and her husband own and operate SunRooms By Team and she also worked as a Social Worker in the area for many years.

She was very active in Republican Women of Black Hawk County, Cedar Valley Community Church Women’s Group, Alternatives Pregnancy Center and facilitated several Alzheiemer’s Support Groups.

She is survived by her husband, Steven of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Corah (Lance) Webber of Waterloo; one son, John (Christina) Sturtz of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; one stepson, Faron (Melissa) Sturtz of Donahue; seven grandchildren: Elijah Webber, Lukas Smock, Isabella Webber, Jackson Sturtz, Chelsea Sturtz, Madison Sturtz, Cameron Sturtz; and by two sisters, Linda (Tom) Cole of Pleasant Hill, Sue (Tim) Flynn of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Elaine was an avid gardener, loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a loyal friend.
