Biography--

Evelyn H. Yarrington Buell Brandt, 91, of Cedar Falls, died at Stanard Assisted Living of Western Home Communities on Saturday, May 6, 2017, of natural causes.

She was born March 13, 1926 in West Union, daughter of David R. and Katherine E. Brause Yarrington. She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1944.

Evelyn married Robert Buell October 27, 1945; he died in May 1960. She married Gerald Brandt on November 21, 1971; he died December 10, 2000. She was a keypunch operator at Rath Packing for a couple of years, a nurse’s assistant at the Waterloo Schools (1966-1971), and was a homemaker and caregiver for several years. She attended Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by her son, John (Nicole) Buell of Decatur, TX; stepson, Daryl (Deb) Brandt of Waterloo; eight grandchildren: Derek Brandt, Danae Kapsch, Bryson Brandt, Kristen Buell, Lynsay, Kaylee, Dalton and Rally Buell; three great-grandchildren: Kaya Buell and Avery and Tatum Kapsch; a sister, Marlys Walker of Rio Rancho, NM; a sister-in-law, Sally Jo Yarrington of Aplington; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husbands; a step son, Dennis Brandt; four brothers: George, Ralph, Robert, and David Yarrington; three sisters: Frances Yarrington, Donna Petersen and JoAnn Hare; and three brothers-in-law: DeWayne Walker, Lawrence Hare, and Estel Petersen.
