US VETERAN

Robert E. “Bob” Phillips, 75, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 16, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital, in Waterloo.

He was born February 3, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Alfred and Bernice Vogel Phillips. He married Jane A. Hamilton on June 12, 1965 in Waterloo. She died February 24, 1988.

Bob served in the United States Air Force for four years. He then returned to Waterloo and worked for John Deere where he stayed until his retirement in 1993.

Survivors include: His significant other, Linda Maledy and her two children; a daughter Nancy (Greg) Wolf of Waterloo; a sister, Janice K. Hansen of Golden, CO; two grandchildren, Jesse and Katie Wolf; and several nieces and nephew.

Preceded in death by: a brother-in-law, Wayne Hansen.

Mass of Christian burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at St. Edwards Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Full military rights will be conducted by the Evansdale Amvets and the Air Force Honor Guard. Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 19 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary service. Visitation will continue for an hour before service at the church on Saturday.
