Obituary for Lois M. Hansen

Lois Mae Hansen, 83, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, May 18, at Covenant Medical Center, in Waterloo.

She was born April 18, 1934 in Little Turkey, Howard County, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Adeline Doubek Jirak.

She married Maynard F. Hansen August 21, 1954, in Waterloo.

Lois graduated from Assumption High School in Cresco. She was employed with Chamberlain Manufacturing and Sears Roebuck.

Survivors include her husband, Maynard of 62 years; her children, David (Rebecca) of Iowa City, Judith Burggraf of Waterloo and Daniel of Mesa, Arizona; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters, Loretta O’Brien and LaVern Monahan both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 22, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary. There will be no visitation at the church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be directed to St. Edward’s Catholic Church.
