Jeannine Ann (Miller) Wilkins was born November 27, 1929, in Minnesota, the daughter of Frances Emma Miller. She was raised in Waterloo and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. Jeannine was united in marriage to Donald Wilkins on January 9, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waterloo. She and Donald were always together and were a close team in parenting and in life. Jeannine was a homemaker and sweet mother to their four children.

She was passionate about her family and went to all of the many activities involving her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren while her health allowed. Jeannine also had a love of dogs, especially schnauzers and was preceded in death by her beloved Molly by just three weeks.

Jeannine passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 86 years. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Louis Knittel; her husband, Donald Wilkins; and a daughter, Deborah Denney; and an infant sister, Susan Irene Knittel.

Jeannine is survived by her son, Don (Sheila) Wilkins of Fairbank; two daughters, Brenda (Dan) Mettner of Waterloo and Tempest (Kevin) Fischels of Gilbertville; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother David (Susan) Knittel of Waverly; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Cedar Valley Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
